The Legislative Action Newsletter is LWV WA’s weekly newsletter featuring easy-to-follow summaries of the legislative process, updates on key issues, and action alerts. Action alerts give you the ability to take action on bills by contacting your local legislators about why you support specific bills. LWV WA makes it very simple to do this with easy to use forms to fill out and language created for you that instantly is sent to your legislator. Legislative Advocacy

The League of Women Voters of Washington has a large advocacy team made up of issues chairs, a paid contract lobbyist, and a team of volunteer advocates who support their work. LWV WA lobby team members write issue papers before each legislative session that provide the background behind the League's position on each issue as well as outline the anticipated plans and legislation for the upcoming session.

The LWVWA Lobby Team takes positions on pending state legislation based on the state and national League Position Statements. You can find information about the legislation they are currently supporting, opposing and watching on the LWV WA Legislative Issues page.

The League of Women Voters uses a time-tested method for taking positions on issues. Members study an issue, use local League meetings to develop consensus on the issues raised in the study, and then adopt a written statement of position on the issue, which is approved by the Board.

Local League adopted positions may be used as the basis for advocacy at the city or county government to which the position applies.
