  • Sign up for the Washington State Legislative Newsletter to easily support bills online

  • Simply Join and your membership dues will help monetarily support our projects

Membership Levels

Individual Membership $60.00 year

Two memberships/One household $85.00/yr

Student membership $10.00/year

Joyce Peterson Membership Grant

You may not realize this, but most of the $60 basic membership goes to the national and state League organizations to support their very important work of advocacy, lobbying and keeping the League strong and visible around the country.  Our League retains only $9 of your $60 dues.

Any additional dues and donations support all the local activities we do (and more we would like to do) to empower voters and defend democracy. Our expenses include fixed costs for our website, post office box and Zoom account, as well as smaller costs for postage and copying. And we try to cover at least some of the costs for one or two board members to attend the Washington League’s state convention.

We have a new way for you to support our important work on Whidbey Island. We are offering several premium membership levels named for some of Washington state’s early suffragists.

*Washington was the fifth state in the nation to give women the vote, with voters approving a constitutional amendment on November 8, 1910. Susan B. Anthony helped form the Washington Equal Suffrage Association (WESA) in the 1870s.

All information about these suffragists and the WESA is taken from the book “Dead Feminists: Historic Heroines in Living Color,” by Chandler O’Leary and Jessica Spring
